THE BEAT FESTIVAL 11.11.11:


The performance by Ottu Jazz Band - Msondo Ngoma has been moved to the next edition taking place on the 9th of December. This edition will focus on 50 years of independence. Replacing Ottu Jazz on the 11.11.11 is Yvonne Mwale from Zambia with her band.

We have the great privellige of presenting Yvonne Mwale to you once again. In 2009 Yvonne won Best Female Upcoming artist at the Zambian Ngoma awards. She has performed for a number of years with the group Nyali Band.

Mzungu Kichaa has just completed a tour in Denmark with his Tanzanian backing band  BONGO BEAT and another top Tanzanian artist. This performance will mark his return to Tanzania and present fresh new sounds that were developed for the tour in Europe. MZUNGU KICHAA & BONGO BEAT embarked on a month long tour to Denmark where they performed a string of concerts and a showcase during WOMEX organised by Caravan Records.

BAKUZA & SOKOMOKOJADIJazz/Afrofusion 
Trio led by one of Dar es Salaam’s top basists and Afro Jazz composers, Bakuza. Sokomokojadi fuse traditional and contemporary Tanzanian rhythms with jazz. The trio comprises of Bass, Keys and Percusion, creating an intimate delivery of original compositions.

ABOUT THE BEAT FESTIVAL

The Beat is a monthly festival showcasing the best live music from Tanzania and abroad. The festival is hosted by Mzungu Kichaa and features some of the best local and international talent passing through Tanzania. 

Triniti (http://www.triniti.co.tz/) provides a relaxed ambience to enjoy good music taking you far away from the cities hustle and bustle, and yet it is still very central.

Entrance is only 10k at the door.
